Our chirped volume Bragg grating (CVBG) technology offers a breakthrough in pulse compression and chromatic dispersion control for systems that rely on ultrafast laser pulses, such as chirped pulse amplification (CPA) laser systems and applications in telecom/datacom. By precisely varying (“chirping”) the grating period within the volume Bragg grating, our CVBGs enable pulse stretching, re-compression, and dispersion correction without the complexity or bulk of traditional grating or prism-based approaches.
